The Dorcas Project seeks to be recognized as an agent of social transformation, which promotes the dignity of community members with improvements in their quality of life.
The project was founded in 1996, when members of the Lutheran Church, in Curitiba, offered support to people who came to the Church requesting requesting basic items such as food and cleaning products. Upon realizing that most of these people were from and underprivileged community in Almirante Tamandaré, it was decided to install a headquarters in that community to develop closer and more effective social assistance work.
